a recap of my year photographing weddings in the hudson valley
This year has been my busiest and most beautiful year to date! One of my goals this year was to spend more time and make more of an effort to get to know each couple, and to somehow work their personalities into their wedding album. This year I asked more questions and listened (with both my ears and eyes) and it led to awesome results.
Some couples expressed how important their friends in their wedding party were to them, which led to candid documentation of their interactions and dramatic poses that highlight their epic connections. Some couples were really into art, and asked me to flex my creative muscles when it came to lighting and posing. All of my new friends valued family, and I was there, hidden behind bushes and in the crowd, to document intimate and natural moments. Some people got married at state parks with their most important people, some tied the knot at breweries or wineries, and others opted for larger reception halls whose rafters shook all night with their parties. From northern New Jersey to Warwick, up through the Hudson Valley area to the Capital Region, love was celebrated in so many different, beautiful ways.
I’m so thankful this year for all the people I have met through this awesome job. All the people who have brought me into their families and lives for a day and trusted me to document the memories of their best day. It was such an honor to be able to laugh with you, cry (just a little) during your vows with you, learn from you, and celebrate with you!
Take a look at my favorite images from the year below, and I wish everyone a happy and blessed 2025!
