Walkthrough Holiday lights in the hudson valley!
What a beautiful time of year in the Hudson Valley! There is so much to do and see, and our "typical" scenery is starting to become a beautiful winter wonderland. One of the best ways to enjoy the season and scenery is to do a walkthrough Holiday Lights tour at Monteverde at Oldstone. This historic inn turned wedding venue and restaurant operates during the months of April-October, but during the holidays they open up again with a fantastic lights display in a very manageable walking path.
Just around the corner from the Bear Mountain Bridge, Monteverde has spectacular views of Peekskill, the Hudson River, and Bear Mountain. Its sweeping vista is matched with charming grounds and an indoor setting with tasteful vintage and antique decor.
Enjoy the walkthrough with lights here, especially the themed displays and the hidden corners with more secluded romantic spots. The total walking distance (over an astroturf runway) is less than a half mile so it is do-able with younger children, but it is arranged in a way so that the exhibits are a surprise and delight around every corner.
By the way, this lights festival would be perfect for a winter proposal! Just make sure you hire a photographer who can work in a dark setting while still capturing the beauty of the lights setup.
