Frequently Asked Questions
How would you describe your style?
Timeless, vibrant, realistic and documentary, modern.
My images are different from others because I use both natural light and flash to highlight your unique story within the beautiful landscape of the Hudson Valley. I have a keen eye for observation and light, and I compose and take photos that incorporate both the larger setting and smaller moments into your wedding photos to ensure that YOUR unique day is documented.
My editing style is realistic, but does tend to lean slightly towards "moody," "cinematic," and "dramatic" by using contrast and light to highlight emotion and important events.
How long before the pictures are delivered?
Previews are typically delivered within 2 days. Then I edit, color correct, and make other small changes to each and every photo that is delivered. Weddings are contractually delivered within 6-8 weeks. However, I try to get them to you a bit faster (4-6 weeks), except during the busiest season.
Are you Insured?
Yes, I am a fully incorporated LLC with liability insurance! I can provide a COI to your venue upon request.
How do you deliver the photos?
All of the completed albums are delivered to you via an email link from this website. They are yours to conveniently download and purchase prints of, which can all be done directly from the album. If you have any other requests, please don't hesitate to ask.
Can I extend the session on the day of?
Yes, extra hours are available at an additional cost, if need be. However, I offer full day coverage up to 10 hrs and do not typically work hourly. Our usual departure time is the last formality (ie, cake cutting). It all depends on how we organize your personalized timeline, which will be collaboratively built around your schedule and priorities.
How do your travel fees work?
There are no fees within the driving range set out in your package. For example, my Highlands and Catskills packages include 1.5 hrs travel from Garrison, NY, where I am based. Yes, that covers travel to engagement sessions too. I don't ever want you to have to think about additional details during these moments, just show up and take great pictures!
Natural light vs. flash photography
I love how natural light can beautifully curtain over a subject, emphasize a moment, and depict a true moment in time.
I also add light when needed to artistically create an image, make a subject stand out from the background, tell a story more completely, and light a dark space like a reception hall. Whenever flash is used, it is still used in a realistic way.
